About
Cyleane Ewura Ama Quansah is a 12-year-old Ghanaian author, creative storyteller, and aspiring innovator whose love for words, stories, and ideas is already leaving a mark on the world.
From a young age, Cyleane discovered that words were her superpower. She loves reading, writing, and dreaming up stories that take her and her readers on extraordinary adventures. That same love for words led her on a spelling bee journey that would take her far beyond the classroom.

In a world where everything is carefully controlled, even beauty must follow rules. A simple decision is made to remove what makes butterflies special — after all, the butterflies are still there. The system becomes more orderly. People adjust. Until something strange happens. A question is asked. A memory returns.
A powerful, thought-provoking story about control, memory, and the courage to rediscover freedom — by Cyleane Ewura Ama Quansah.

The Journey
After a breathtaking 37-round tie and an intense tiebreaker at the National Spelling Bee Ghana, Cyleane placed a remarkable 1st Runner Up — earning the honour of representing Ghana at the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee in Maryland, USA.
Cyleane stepped onto one of the world's most iconic stages wearing her vibrant Kente blazer and proudly representing Accra, Ghana. She competed among 243 of the world's best young spellers and placed an outstanding 58th — a landmark result for Ghanaian spelling globally.
In 2025, Cyleane emerged as one of only 19 SpellPundit senior competition finalists out of 200 of the world's best spellers. Then in April 2026, she went further — becoming one of just 26 finalists out of 180 global competitors at the SpellPundit National Senior Competition, proudly standing as the only African among the finalists.
Giving Back
Cyleane took to the stage at Ghana's premier literary festival — performing alongside renowned writers like Professor Sarah Dogbadzi, Apiokor Seyram Ashong- Abbey, and sharing her passion for literature with audiences of all ages. She performed as part of a reading panel at the Akwaaba Writers Project Ghana stage, backed by the Goethe-Institut Ghana and the Foundation for Contemporary Art.
Beyond her achievements, Cyleane has a heart for giving back. Every year on her birthday and at Christmas, she visits and gives to orphaned children — a tradition that reflects not only her compassion and generosity but the values instilled in her by her family.
